The BBC are very handy, are they not? I shall pay my licence fee, gladly.

Although if they don't stop sending their shirty letters to the flat (without a TV) where I maintain my boudoir, I shall bring down a storm of raging crocodiles upon their heads, I shall indeed.

Uh? What's this?

It's home education, Grit style.

I run this line of tension between autonomy (them) and structure (me).

As a compromise (i.e. to make me feel better), I use this weekly assignment blog to 'support' my lovely daughters, Shark, Squirrel and Tiger through a Geography IGCSE syllabus. We read the assignments, watch the vids, talk and TALK.

(By the way, that was support. Not get in the way.)

The first year I'm hitting the syllabus my way, with my agenda in place; the second year I'm throwing the text book at them and leaving them to it.

If they want to sit the exam at that point, that's up to them.

And if a weekly set of stuff to think about or do helps, then feel free. There's nothing to stop you using it.

Some of it won't make much sense. And I'm not coming round to give you chocolate or fix your computer.
